Commonwealth v. R.C.

R.C. was arrested after an unimaginably brutal home invasion of a young couple in Philadelphia. A male victim was duct taped, beaten and stabbed to within an inch of his life, and the female was taken to a remote location and sexually assaulted multiple times before she was finally able to escape and call police. The male victim was then found and taken to a hospital where he remained in a coma for more than a month. Following a year-long defense investigation by assault lawyer in Philadelphia, prosecutors reviewed those findings and agreed to drop all charges against him one week before a jury trial was set to commence. The pre-trial offer on the case had been 25-50 years of incarceration in exchange for a guilty plea.
